There never appears to be anybody manning the service phone number. It just claims to be busy and hangs up on you. That could cause some pretty serious screw-ups if e.g. people need to reschedule at short notice. They also have a policy of ripping off parents of infants at the check in desk for a previously unmentioned 10% ticket charge for the infant, even without a seat or meal. If they want to charge that, then it should be included in the initial booking, not kept secret until you have no option but to pay. I'll be suing it back off them anyway.

This airline has a policy not to respond to customers. We had a complaint about the reservation service. The complaint was not accepted by phone (rude staff) but reffered to their website (good luck there!). Eva Corporation does it's best to hide their email and postal adress but we manged to track them down. We wrote a formal letter of complaint. No response. So we followed up with a registered letter and again No Response! Clearly this airline is not interested in it's customers once you have spent your money.

24 April 2017 Mathew Ryan

Hi, My name is Mathew Ryan and my seat cushion on my flight to Thailand had very little padding on it and my buttocks was very sore during and after the flight, it hurt very bad. Would you please give me a seat that is comfortable for me to set in on May 1st when I fly back to America. A good seat with a good cushion or a upgrade that will not cost me extra money. I like flying on your airplanes and the service is very good. Please help me to have a nice flight home on your airplane. BR/8VDQKN Thank you for your help. Eva airways out of Taipei offers horrendous service for frequent travelers. Apparently they have had high turnover in staff at the TPE hub and the mangers are all junior. They will offer no concession nor any benefit for Star Alliance status. Gold, 1K, etc. NONE WHATSOEVER. They will also enforce a 7KG total luggage limit (absurd for an international flight). If you need to fly them in other parts of Asia, they are not bad. Stay away for originating any EVA flights in TPE. Take Cathay or Singapore airlines. AVOID EVA out of TPE. J Miller

Eva Airlines discriminates against DISABLED AND HANDICAPPED passengers! I will report them to the ADA! This is by far the worst airline I have done business with! I bought my aunt a ticket LAX-MNL. I wasted hours of my time on the phone with employees that do not care. They are extremely rude and they have lost my business permanently. I will tell everyone I know.

On July 23rd I flew business class from Chongqing China to Toronto Canada, connecting through Beijing China and Taipei Taiwan. The flights from Beijing to Taipei and Taipei to Toronto were on EVA. While the in-flight service and product were great, the EVA agents in Beijing nearly ruined my trip and made the entire experience of flying EVA miserable. After speaking with a clueless agent, the supervisor insisted that I would need a visa to transit through Taipei enroute to Canada. However, Taiwan allows travelers continuing to a third country on the same day to transit-without-a-visa (TWOV). The agents insisted that I would have to miss the flight and go apply for a visa in order to transit through Taipei (I am a Canadian Permanent Resident). This is clearly incorrect and caused me a great deal of frustration before my long flight to Toronto. Only after begging the supervisor was I allowed to travel to Taipei and onward to Toronto. My husband flew the same route on EVA several months ago and experienced the exact same problem in Beijing. EVA should re-train the agents in Beijing so that this doesnt happen to other travelers in the future. Clearly there is a lack of understanding on visa/passport rules and regulations within EVAs Beijing team. Even checking EVAs own website (www.evaair.com/en-us/flight-information/... would show that my documentation allows me to transit Taipei without a visa.
