Terrible experience flying with Auirberlin fr om Vienna to Abu Dhabi through TXL/Berlin on 4 August. The flight from Vienna was delayed for 3 hours, but the time it reached Berlin, the flight to Abu Dhabi had left 1 hour before. Many passengers missed their flights and had to wait stay over night in Berlin. On 5 August finally we boarded an aircraft to Abu Dhabi, which left with about 20-30 min delay due to various reasons, one of which some issue with an aircraft door that they could not close. When we arrived to Abu Dhabi, the troubles continued -- our luggage was missing! Airberlin had more than 12 hours in TXL/Berlin to organize our luggage and load it on the airplane and they failed to do it. Now the buagge is lost, not traceable. It is quite a challenge to contact Airberlin. My local operator responds that the phone numbers are not extistent when I call Airberlin. When finally I managed to reach Airberlin operator she was rude enough to tell me that lost luggage is not the problem of Airberlin and that if I should go to the Lost&Found of the airport wh ere the luggage was lost -- presumably she means that I should travel to TXL/Berlin to personally look for my luggage?

Got my bag back this weekend after being lost for 3 weeks. Apparently it was sitting OUTSIDE in the sun the entire time - and the rain I would imagine, as the entire top of the bag was completely FADED. What was red is now PINK! It had to be sitting there for quite some time to fade that bad!!! Which just goes to show they just don't bother with the piles of bags sitting around! Still waiting on compensation - or even a response to our claim - for the things we were forced to buy to replace the things in our bags.

I chose airberlin as my airlines to fly to Europe after I haven't been there for 10 yrs. Unfortunately my trip was ruined from the very start. Our flight going to Europe was cancelled so we were rebooked on different carriers. Fees that I paid for specific seats were never refunded and we had to sit separately and had the worst seats in the middle of the 4-seat rows. Then our suitcases were lost and we didn't have our belongings: clothes, medications, etc for 5 days. What's even worse my luggage has been lost coming back home. I landed at JFK on July 10th Monday. Today is Saturday July 15th and airberlin wasn't even able to locate my suitcase. I don't have my medications now for 6 days and my health insurance won't override the new prescriptions. I demand an immediate cont

Had finally received my suitcase after 10 days....just in time for me to fly back home. No one answers the emails and the airport lost and found(aerogate) staff in Munich is at a loss. They said that just in one day they have over 400 bags that are delayed from airberlin. Best of luck to everyone getting belongings back :( Now hopefully airberlin will reimburse for all the unnecessary purchases while waiting for my suitcase.

These stories worry me as our luggage has been missing since 9/14, so approximately 10 days and we are having the same experience in terms of nobody answering the phone, responding to emails or being able to tell us exactly where the luggage is at this time. We flew out of Boston on 9/13 via Delta, were supposed to go to Amsterdam via KLM fr om Dublin but the flight was cancelled and that is wh ere the trouble began. We are using the world trackin site as we filed the claim in Amsterdam upon our arrival there... This is a real problem and the airlines should be held accountable....

Hello, I am planning to travel to Switzerland on next week. I heard there are some problems in airbelin airlines. Can I book the ticket through airberlin?

Still waiting on mine and I traveled September 1st!! Any idea how to contact someone? Anyone at this point! This is abs absurd!!! Guest : Guest : Guest : Hello everyone. I've just picked up my luggage today fr om my local airport - which was flown here from Chicago through American Airlines (Air Berlin can't ship it to you because FedEx will not accept their shipments - because they are bankrupt). I lost it 9/1 at the start of my trip and have finally gotten it within 17 days. Two days ago I received contact from Air Berlin in Chicago and a woman there has helped me to get my luggage from Chicago to IND within 2 days. To anyone who has had little luck, hopefully you had made a claim with the initial airport it was lost in. Use the reference number you received there to make a claim on this website: wtrweb.worldtracer.aero/WTRInternet/wtwf... . Hopefully, this will help you. We had to go through LOTS of work to get our luggage and I can't say for sure which efforts really got us our luggage back, but the website might help you. Hi, that gives me a little bit of hope of at least having back my stuff. Would you mind to share wh ere exactly did you made the claim in this website? Thanks a lot for sharing it My apologies, it is a little different because you don't make claims under claims, instead you "contact your airline" and provide the email and phone number and any information you don't see filled out under "my file". For instance, mine had no address or phone number and it said I had a blue suitcase (but mine is black), so I provided this information and a day or two later I was contact by AB in Chicago. I agree, I did not think I would EVER get my luggage back as long as I waited. Now to deal with traveler's insurance....

Nikki : I have had the most horrible experience with this airline and regret ever booking a flight with them. My fiance and parents were flying from BOS to TXL on September 3, 2017 for my wedding and our checked bags never arrived in Berlin. We were told to wait and that the luggage might show up on other connecting flights through Dusseldorf. We spent 8 hours after arriving in Berlin with absolutely no answers. We filed a claim and haven't been able to find out any information as to what is going on, and it changes depending on who we speak with. On September 9th I received an email saying that my luggage was being sent rush to BOS but was never provided with any tracking information except a message that says "Delivery Process Initiated" when I log in to view my claim. We had also received a call right after the email, and we had told them to hold the bags in Berlin and that we flew out the 10th for our honeymoon, so we wanted to pick up the luggage. We went to baggage claim to get our bags (after waiting close to an hour in line) to be told the bags weren't there, they were sent to my fiance's brother (the address we gave when we flew for the wedding), then they said they went back to Boston. They have no clue. This whole experience caused so much stress and frustration leading up to my wedding, my mom had no dress, and we had to completely shop for all of our clothing for our honeymoon. We have tried calling the past two days since returning from our honeymoon to reach someone and have waited over 2 hours on hold, and nobody answers. The other number for baggage service is busy nonstop. My in laws were flying out of Berlin this morning and went back to the baggage service center to see if they could get any answers in person, and they are now saying the bags never were sent to Boston. Help! Is there anything else we can do? Nikki : I have had the most horrible experience with this airline and regret ever booking a flight with them. Help! Is there anything else we can do? I went through the exact same thing with Berlin. Don't expect any accurate details on your luggage until you reach the states. I've heard some people find their luggage at departure, others see it again in 4 weeks, mine took about 2 and a half weeks - a week after I returned from my trip. They said it was in several places and was often being delivered but nothing. Good luck to you!
