This airline has the worst customer service and ticketing system. The flight ticket that you buy could change whenever and however this shitty airline want.
Don't bother call the customer service because you need to wait at least an hour, just to hear that they are sorry and cannot do anything bla bla bla.
Super not recommended.
They monopolize the low budget air travel in Indonesia, so they can do WHATEVER they like.
I had a Return Air Ticket on Lion air Thai Lion Air flight SL 0219 scheduled to depart from Mumbai, India (BOM) to Bangkok Donmueang, Thailand (DMK) on 30 Apr 2020 this was cancel due to Covid, I have mailed them and they told me they will refund the full amount, each time I have reminded them on refund status, there was reply saying all the refund are in process and then after sending reminder they stop replying.
this has put the Lion Air Image in very bad,
I hope the CEO read the mail and act on this.
Lion Air is horrible. They lost (stole) my luggage. How is it possible that luggage can be lost between two flights of a total of 1.25 hours? Went from Labuan bajo to Denpasar then to Lombok. They do this route every single day and you would think they have it down to a science. Not a chance. The level of customer service is so substandard it should be illegal. I sat in their office in the Airport in Lombok and they didn't even make a phone call or send out an email to find out what's happening. In fact they asked me to write down my name, phone number and email address on a piece of cardboard. So unprofessional its pathetic. It's simple, my bag was stolen, not lost. They have a reputation for doing this and everyone needs to be aware. The sooner they are out of business the better. There are better Airlines. Don't gamble with these scammers.
I booked LA just because they had refund policy, and then when I cancel a round trip because they delayed one way flight, they only refunded me the flight that got delayed, the other way was only refunded 1/18 of the ticket. The reason? They said they don't cancel it, so they don't have to pay for it. * , I couldn't get there then how I could fly back??
Worlds worst airline. 4th time I have had to fly with them. 4th time I get delayed over 1 hr. You dont get this with Garuda. Avoid lion at all costs.
I have taken 16 flights already in 2016. Lion Air has been the worst each time. They do not know about helping passengers requesting special assistance. They do not know about boarding protocols. The English of the cabin crew is embarrassingly inadequate. Part of the problem is the standards of anything (education, health care, customer service) are some of the lowest in SE Asia. Do not fly with this carrier. Go instead with one from Singapore. The ONLY way Lion Air is better than Malaysia Air is that they haven't lost any planes... yet....
Lionair :Worse of all airline i have travelled .. Never try .. Even they give u free ticket, dont.. Delayed.. Staff most unfriendly.. Bags lost, even refuse to book a TV for stupid reasons.. Dont ever use LIONair in indoneisa . I m surprise they are still allowed to operate . WORSE airline is LIONAIR.
I have emailed them several times using the email provided on their contact us page. Yet I have received no response. poor customer service!
Really surprised that so many people only had bad experience with Lion Air, I flew with Lion Air from Lombok to Bali a couple of weeks ago, my flight was perfectly fine, except for the one hour delay. Also, the air conditioning was only turned on when we started flying, which was bad because it was extremely hot. Apart from that, the flight was fine, we got our baggage without problems.
As for people having problems with paying by credit card: I know Lion Air still have their issues. Try booking your tickets through en.tiket.com/ . Used it as well and there weren't any problems. They immediately emailed me my e-ticket and everything went smoothly.
We booked a return flight BKK to KUL with Thai Lion Air. A couple of weeks before we were due to leave they cancelled our flights in both directions. They offered alternatives but we already had accommodation booked and were meeting family that meant their offers would not work. They duly said we would be refunded within 45 days. Great! 45 days has now long since passed and still no refund. I have sent multiple emails and tried to call them. Nothing. I will not fly with this airline again.

I 've bought tickets from Bangkok Don Mueang to Jakarta on 12 May 2014. suddenly 1 week before flight, I was contacted by thai lion air , say my flight is canceled and asked to contact Indonesia lion air ( I bought the tickets from Indonesia ) . I tried to call 3 times, none of them is raised , then I went to the operational building of lion air in indonesia. then i was asked to come again the next day and promised there will be a solution . The next day I came back and got the same answer that my flight has been moved to the 15th of may . when I reject a given solution , indonesian lion airlines staff again asked 1 day to confirm this . After 1 day , I returned the same answer given by the staff with cavalier style and very rude. who is going to pay for my stay in bangkok from 12 to 15 may???? until now there is no clarity from either thai lion airlines or Indonesia Lion Airlines on it while I was going to travel to bangkok in 3 days ahead! It was the worst airline I have ever used . i still waiting for this airlines to contact me.
I do not recommend this airlines except if you are very flexible with time schedule.
3 weeks ago, they cancelled my flight which was supposed to leaveJakarta at 14h30 and offer me go with a flight in the morning at 9h which I couldn't take (i was arriving in Jakarta at 9h...).
They simple sent me an email 2 days before to let le know about that change and never reply my answer asking for another solution...
To make a long story short (long discussions with different person in different airports and at the headquarters in Jakarta!), I have to say :
- I had to buy another ticket with Garuda (more than twice the price because it was a last minute tickets...)
- I have wasted a lot of time trying to get my ticket refund
- Finally, they told me I could get only 10% of the price back because they have to charge me cancellation fees (eg 90% of the price :-) !)
-And, I ran away when they asked me to fill up a form to get the 10%...
Personally I don't like flying this airlines. It is true this airline flies almost all B737-900ER, the latest of its kind. But, almost all of its pilots fly the machine rough especially when landing. Just last week I experienced rough landing in SUB airport, all passengers were yelling at the same time. Basically, Lion Air is not an LCC at all, the cost of its tickets ALWAYS higher even compared with medium serviced airlines in Indonesia. The seat pitch is somewhat cramped, leg room is bad (always bump my knees with front seat) so I always ask for emergency exit seats, the seat is not comfortable, boarding time is long because the aircraft capacity is set to maximum of almost 220 seats. Not a recommended airliner.
