I represent a flight from Dubai to Nairobi, in this part - to Mombasy. [Br] [Br] Kenya Airways airline. Flight KQ307, departure from Dubai DXB airport at 06.55, arrival at Mombasi at 11.20. Travel time is 5 hours 25 minutes. Next, 1 hour 15 minutes is a technical stop and the next departure at 12.35 in Nairobi. Time in flight 1 hour, a schedule of schedule at 13.35. Over the past 2-3 years, I already had several published stories related to the airport named after Jomo Keniats, and with Kenya Airways airline. Therefore, initially did not plan to repeat and write again. However, he still decided due to the fact that it was not a direct flight, but with an intermediate landing in Mombas, which had not yet appeared in the reviews.

The flight consisted of even three shoulders, but a single ticket and different airlines. The first segment to Dubai, the second - to Nairobi. The segment to Dubai in this bunch was served by Flydubai airline. He passed ordinary, without remarkable details, and therefore is not worthy of attention. But on the shoulder before Nairobi, there were two solutions with Kenya Airways airline. In addition, from the initial point there was the opportunity to fly with both segments of Emirates, but it opened it - tickets cost around 60 thousand rubles. The ligament of Flydubai/Kenya has about 30 thousand, and this is with about the same service. For me, service on board is primarily food. And I trust the Kenyans in this regard - it has been checked more than once. For dates corresponding to my flight, Kenya Airways from Dubai to Nairobi executed two daily flights, one of which is non -cordial, the second was alternated: one day is also nonsense, the next day - with a landing in Mombasus. The one that the daily non -stop was executed on the A330 (with an unfamiliar livery, the operator was another airline called Hi Fly Malta) and his departure time from Dubai at one in the morning, and the arrival in Nairobi on the early morning, when it was still dark, that is, it is a night flight. The one that alternated the nonsense day/day with landing was performed mainly on B737 (less often on the non -stop version of this flight, they put a wide fuselage, B787) - flew up daily at 7 in the morning and this is, respectively, the daily flight. And if the non -stop flew to Nairobi at the area of 12 o’clock in the afternoon, then the one who flew through Mombasus made an hourly stop there and flew to Nairobi an hour and a half later. In general, such a complex mathematics. Night flights are always painful for me, especially since the first segment to Dubai also came out night. Therefore, the choice of the second segment in the presence of a daily alternative was obvious. Naturally, he fell on a daytime flight, which narrowed my search before the flight, which on this day was performed with an intermediate landing in Mombas. It will be so, I decided, and bought a ticket. At the same time, after the first flight, the transplant in Dubai fell on the whole day (visiting it was also included in the plans) and the next night.

By the way, now Kenya Airways has stopped flights from Dubai to Mombasus, and FlyDubai is currently working on this route. At the same time, the Kenyan National Carrier switched to two "clean" direct daily flights on the Nairobi -Dubai route without any intermediate landings. So I “got into the stream” in time. ”

The day before departure, I registered in the Kenya Airways app, chose a place 29a (selection of places - free). There was a luggage with him, which he planned to pass at the Flydubai flight at the beginning of the Flight, and ask that it would not have to be taken in Dubai, to register to the final point - it turned out.

I usually start a review from the city of departure, but this time I will omit this moment, because the phrase from the famous Soviet film "In Sochi, every person can be rested in our life. Time against Dubai - everyone knows him and many have been there. Moreover, this has become especially relevant in the last three years, when, along with Istanbul, he took on the role of the main gate in the rest of the world for a Russian traveler. That's what I hit! The time was only 8 o’clock in the evening, that is, I had to spend at least 8 hours in the dirty zone! In Dubai there were no acquaintances or people whom I could turn to somehow spend this time, I also did not want to return to the city on my own, taking into account the fact that I had no idea where to go to kill the time.

I did not find anything suitable or searched badly, because I did not feel inner enthusiasm. Something told me that there was no need to leave the airport. I know that I’ll be so unsuccessfully stuck in an uncomfortable place of the Dubai airport for long hours, I would probably buy a ticket for this flight:

I did not want to eat, because I noted a little in Dubai before going to the airport. In one of the recovers at this later time, a cafe bought cold tea for some penny. So, you can forgive everything for the sake of one detail - the taste of the on -board nutrition. No Qatar Airways or Emirates can not compare with them. And I'm not talking about the way of serving, diversity and quantity, there are still no equal graders in this. Namely, about the taste, that is, about the perception of food with the taste papillae of the tongue. Yes, I agree, everyone has different tastes, but how much Kenya Airways did not fly - it always remained impressed from their kitchen.
After a damp cloth, the food was not immediately brought, but passengers flooded for another half an hour, after which they offered meat, chicken, vegetarian. I chose the meat, but for some reason they gave chicken. Either they didn’t hear or mistaken:

He was not like anything and can’t compare with anything, I will say simply - it was unrealistically tasty! However, what it was - could not understand, but already found out in Kenya itself. It turns out that this is a variety of local, Kenyan, either beans, or peas, which was served with coconut milk in the plane (this is in the form of a whitish sauce) and this combination gave a taste for 10 out of 10. In Kenya, this pea is known and very popular, it is grown by almost every household. And I didn’t try it before, but I didn’t even know about its existence.

And it is not a fact that they flew in a Mogadisho with a transplant, probably all local ones, I mean living in Kenya, since every year there are more and more, in particular, in Nairobi.

In these areas there are pretty good places for a beach holiday with appropriate infrastructure. Yes, the most famous beaches are in Diana, which south of Mombasy, who rank almost to the top of the top of the best beaches of East Africa. But at the resorts that the plane now flew over, its color, in addition to the local population, who loved mainly Italians:

In Malindi has its own airport with the status of international. A couple of years ago, I had a review on this resource about departure from this airport.
Kenya is an amazing and diverse country in terms of the natural component. Along the resort coast, life on the one hand is calm and measured on the one hand, and on the other, it is filled with various types of outdoor activities. The local population is more friendly than in the capital of the country. Not even friendly, and if you put it more correctly - more familiar to a white person who feels relaxed and safe there. All this flashed in my head, as the plane decreased over familiar places. For example, we fly by the Kilifi bridge in the city of the same name. Repeatedly drove through it by car:


As it decreases and approaches the airport, the coastline moved 15-20 km. We fly past the airport of Vipingo Ridge. This is not even an airport, but simply a soil strip for the take -off/landing of small aircraft, the network of which is very saturated in Kenya:

Airport of departure, DXB, terminal 1 - rather comfortable, logistics, with elements of luxury. However, this is Dubai, it cannot be otherwise. But he passes through himself quite a few passengers from different parts of the world, and seems a little overloaded and therefore tired. The disadvantage of this terminal is chaos and the lack of free spaces in the dirty zone. Rather, of its part where registration for flights is carried out. But this is personally my subjective assessment, based on spending a long time there. If you arrive three hours before departure, this drawback can not be noticed. Therefore, in general, this does not affect the total score, which, of course, 5 out of 5. Well, okay, not 5, but somewhere between 4.5 and 5.

What can you evaluate the service provided by the airline?

For food - definitely 5 points. And the question is not only in the taste of on -board nutrition (yet this is an assessment of variable and depending on the taste preferences of the passenger - someone, perhaps, on the contrary, turns from beans), but in a pleasant surprise - the second snack was proposed and this is only 4 hours 40 minutes for the total flight time. And the fact that the airline during the flight unlimitedly pumps the passenger with various alcohol to choose from is even more increasing the score and displays it to 6 out of 5)!

Comfort during the flight - between 5 and 4. I would have set up 5, but I got an airplane without a multi media system on board. A high score for comfort is primarily for a large distance between the seats, which is very valuable for high passengers.

Compliance with the schedule is 5 points. It seems that they flew out later for 20 minutes, but they flew 25 minutes earlier and besides, in those days the flight very often lingered for an average of 2-3 hours. So I was lucky. [Br]
