Bangkok-Singapore with Thai Airways

This flight took place during my trip to Southeast Asia last year. Thai Airways flight with number TG409 departed from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi Airport) at 4:35 PM local time and arrived to Singapore (Changi Airport) at 7:55 PM.

By the time I got to the airport, it was already time to board. This was a good thing, because the plane was on the sunny side of the terminal and I would've hated to be waiting with the sun in my face.

Our Boeing 777-300, tail number HS-TKF, produced in 1998.

I had picked a seat situated on the right side of the cabin so that I would be out of the sun for the whole flight. The seats were configured 3-3-3 per row, with an in-flight entertainment system for each seat.

Since the flight wasn't full, the middle seats were kept empty to give everyone a little extra room.

Here's one for the 777 fanboys.

While we were taxiing to the runway, I noticed this 747 having issues reversing on airstrip number 1.

Of course, Eva Air is everywhere.

Just before takeoff, the entertainment system was turned on. It was identical in every way to that in first class.

About 1 hour after takeoff, one of the prettiest Thai ladies that I've ever laid eyes on asked me what I'd like for dinner. I chose chicken. The other option was pork with sweet and sour sauce.

At this latitude night fell quickly. As did the thunderstorms. A pretty group of storm clouds.

Conclusions

Punctuality: Good. As I recall we had a 5-10 minute delay.

Comfort: Fine. A first-class setup in economy class, with an in-flight entertainment system and an empty central seat. It's like a dream come true. Even business class on a typical European airline is not as comfortable.

Personnel: Fine. As usual, top notch.

Meals: Good. Notably less greasy than what I got before.
