Hello. Calcutta is a scary city... everything is covered with a black layer of soot. Garbage, stones, stench, the sound of horns, lack of footpaths and benches. I shouldn't have come here... I'm flying to Bangkok. Nowadays there are a lot of airlines flying between these cities. Thai Airlines, Thai VietJet Air, Air Asia, Thai Lion Air. Indian SpiceJet, Indigo.
Airline from Bhutan Bhutan Air.
The Thai Lion Air flight took off at 2.30 am.
At nine in the evening I left the hotel and headed to the metro.
I had to go with a transfer, drove through seven stations, got out to transfer to another metro line, and it turns out to be closed after 22 o'clock.
I went out into the street and took a tuk-tuk for 300 rupees, and we rushed through evening Calcutta.
How unpleasant it is, dark streets, fires are burning, people walk in the dark, and garbage... a lot of garbage.
We almost reached the airport. The driver transferred me to another tuk-tuk and said that he was not allowed to go there. The second tuk-tuk was kind of strange, it had one seat for a passenger, it was driving slowly, and of course it started begging for money beyond what was agreed upon.
Kaltcutta airport is big.
But again there are a lot of security guards, checking your ticket and passport.
I went inside.
There weren’t many people walking around, but there were night flights. Flights within India and nearby countries, Doha, Dubai, Singapore.
At check-in they asked for a return ticket from Thailand, looked at the Indian visa in print. But they didn’t ask for an electronic card of arrival in Thailand.
Passport control went fine, but during the inspection the boiler was taken away..... idiots.
The clean area is large, there is a smoking room, several cafes, shops, and even a couple of travelators. But there is no currency exchange.
Thai Lion Air is an airline with a base airport in Bangkok - Don Mueang.
They called for boarding.
The airline is budget, food is paid. Airplane B 737-8, cabin layout - economy class.
The load is almost full.
Passengers - a lot of Indians. Entertainment included a flight magazine, food menu.
The flight lasted two hours. It was dark outside the window, I was sitting by the aisle.
All the passengers were sleeping, I was the only one awake.
We landed at Don Mueang airport, it was getting light.
At passport control, they didn’t ask for any forms. Stamp for Russians - 60 days.
Morning, seven in the morning, I went to the city to look for my hotel and rest after the night flight.
On the departure board Don Mueang noticed what seems to be a new Air Asia-Alma Ata flight.
Fly back soon.
