We arrived at the Airport at 3:30am for a 6:45am flight. Dropped our bags at the desk which took us about 15mins. We did not pass the security until 6:17am. Ran to the gate to discover on the screen that gate was closed already. While on the que, we informed the staff when it was 5:30am of the time for our flight, many other people were going to them but she was said, many other people have the same problem. There were many people on the que, only four lines were open for people and another line for priority. The situation was very bad, many of us missed our flight. In our own case, there was no other flight available going to Zurich that day or even the next. I have to go to Gatwick and pay for another flight. It was a very stressful and disheartening experience. We could not collect our luggage till 11:30am and at the collection point, no chairs to sit on, people were just sitting on the floors, people with children, so many of us were affected. This is bad, I have had opportunities to travel, I have never seen anything like this in my life, in a developed country like UK. Even in Africa, it was not this bad! They said they were short staffed, with many flights from Luton Airport, many people travelling from there, they should have enough staff. What we were made to go through, was too bad. It is important that something be done to stop this! Open many lines for security place with staff to man them.

Don,t go to this airport if you can help it. It is an absolute disgrace, this airport is only concerned with ripping off the passengers. They charge £2.50 for driving through for a 5 second drop off and the money is obviously not reinvested in the disgraceful signage and roadwork. Also when we got to security they made us pay for a seal-able bag but could not tell us what was wrong with the one we had, which was the same size and has been used in four other airports. they are nothing but theives!

Poor people flow
No seats at gates
No air bridges
Parking a rip off
Disable parking miles from anywhere
Not enough food outlets airside
Duty free prices 25% MORE expensive than UK high street
Not enough passport desks open
Wait forever for luggage
