Air Astana claim to be world class...at least for Central Asia (even this is not achieved), but they are truly lacking in so many ways. The individual employees are ok (not great, but ok), but the company policies are laughable. They do not allow point accruals on booking classes I,R,U,X,N,E,P,G,M,W, and O...so, it is impossible to get points. Furthermore, they never move elite members to the front of the plane, even when the first class seats are empty...they can only get away with this because of the monopolistic stranglehold they have on the local industry. Air Astana...the mediocre airline of Central Asia.
The general attitude and helpfulness of Air Astana staff, especialy those on the ground is appalling, especially if you have even a slight problem. The training prgramme they attend (if they do) must be the worst in the world.
