Xian MA60 Reviews

Nepal Airlines bought 6 of this planes. Now after 4 years all of them are grounded. Because (according to the airline)- problems occurring too frequently, very slow after sale service and parts delivery, total new sets of pilots and technicians needed( too expensive), too high operational costs.

As a aircraft mechanic, Ma60 is ok it's just need to develope more to deal with problem.

Specifications look good. Incidents and accidents does not look too good though. Maybe there are other factors that have affected these incidents. Love to fly this aeroplane.

MA 60 is a reengineered version of AN24 which is a brilliant Chinese product. It is powered by PWC 127 J (Canadian) engines with Hamilton Propellers (US) and most of its avionics are made in US. APU, environment control system and many other systems too made in US.
It is very reliable user friendly aircraft. Its technical publications follows the ATA 100 system same as Airbus/Boeing. After sales services and customer services are excellent.

I'd rather fly with IPTN/CASA CN-235 than Xian MA-60, CN-235 has FAA certified and has proven the safety, even US Coast Guard use CN-235. MA-60 is more like copy to Antonov An-24. More and more incident and accident are happened, Looks like MA-60 is often stall at low altitude with low throttle specially at landing position.

I have flown the Air Zimbabwe MA60 six times and I love it. It vibrates a little but one feels as safe as if one was in a ATR. It is a great aircraft!

I have ride MA60 airplane of Zestair many time, Very comfortable in its class, a reliable airplane.

Exelent Plane with exelent background. It is too bad that it has no EASA type certifite of airworthines.
